First Gaming PC - Help :)

I've been a suscriber for a while and finally planning to make the switch to PC gaming. I live in England and I have a budget of about £1000-1500.

As I'm still currently a uni student I'll be moving house a few more times in the near future, as such I'm looking to build my PC in the upcoming Bitfenix Progidy M Case, because I like the size, look and portability of the case, but I also like the idea of having the choice to SLI or Crossfire in the future inside the compact case.

I am mainly using the PC to game with, but in the new year I will start my new weekend job as a camera skydiver, so a PC that will quickly edit footage will also be a big plus as I don't think my little ultra book is quite up to the challenge, not too fussed about an optical/blue ray drive as I can always buy an external one if I need to.

Apart from that I'm looking for advice concerning everything! I wont be buying until Christmas/new year but I'm always on the lookout for deals so I want to know what to look out for as the occasional ebay and gumtree bargain will help keep costs to a minimum. Pretty set on using a simple self contained watercooler/radiator system to cool the CPU and keep noise down as well.

My main question is GPU... Thanks to the price drop by Nvidia the 780 is now between £350-420 depending on the model and where it's bought, I like that it is low on power and runs cooler than the R9-290X but will mantle make the AMD card a better option? Also the 780 does SLI well so I have bee thinking that will be the future direction, but for now a single card will do. Also will the new Nvidia capture software make up for the lack of mantle?

Also I have a 3D TV can anyone tell me how/if it is possible to game in 3D with titles such as Battlefield 4?

A simple mechanical keyboard and simple mouse will be needed... but there are so many different brands and models I just want something to do the job!

I know it's a lot of questions but I'd love some help/advice.

Cheers in advance!

If your buying parts over a long period of time the blackfriday month from newegg and the daily deals have netted me some pretty sweet hardware.  last year watching for deals around this time, I got two 1TB HDD for $50ea which were normally $85, three 120GB SSDs for $80 ea which were $105 post deal.

You can also check: http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/pricedrop/#dg_6 and http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/pricedrop/#dg_5

Verify the deals though if you find an awesome one.  Combos on newegg can be reported wrong and i've run into "on backorder" deals for ram.

Thanks for the help, will definitely be keeping an eye out :) Any suggestions on what a suitable Micro ATX motherboard that will support future SLI I should be looking at?

Similarly what should I be looking for RAM wise?
