First Gaming Build

Hey everyone! I'm new to the forums, but I often creep around the site and read articles/watch videos. I've been putting together a list for my first gaming build, doing some research for what parts I would need, and consulting with more informed friends of mine concerning what to use in the build. So far, this is the list I've come up with. I figured I would throw my first post in the forums here and see what the Tek Syndicate community would have to say.

The build will be used for heavy high-endish gaming/streaming alongside productivity and maybe some casual video editing.

CPU: i7 4790k Haswell http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117369

MoBo: ASUS Maximus VII Hero http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132125

Graphics Card: ASUS Strix GTX 970 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121899

RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16gb (2 x 8gb) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233542

PSU: Corsair AX Series AX760 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139042

SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SATA 6gb/s http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147248 (this SSD will run alongside the 1TB HDD I currently have)

CPU Cooler: Corsair h100i http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181032

Currently with these parts on newegg plus the case/case fans my total price is $1,600 and I would like to keep the total price below $2k. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks for your time.

That's a really good build. IMO the H100i is really overkill for an LGA 1150 chip. You'll reach Haswell's limits before you reach a temperature limit with a Devil's Canyon CPU (4690K or 4790K), so you could save a few bucks with a cheaper 120 or 140mm cooler like an H80i if you really want water cooling, or if you don't mind air cooling (I personally prefer it) then a be quiet Dark Rock 3 would be a great way to go.

Well the liquid cooling has been on the fence really, I'm still not sure if I want to get into some serious overclocking with the CPU yet. Alternatively, I might go for a Cooler Master 212 evo heat sync instead of the h100i. I'll look in to the Dark Rock 3 as well though, thanks!

Decent build indeed. i would switch out the H100i for the coolermaster nepton 280L. arround the same price "if not" cheaper, but better.
