First gaming build, input wanted

Is this a good setup? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qCoj

Tried to balance it out with the Motherboard and CPU costing the same and the GPU costing about 60% more (which is what i have heard is ideal for a gaming PC).

I would also like to ask were I would send in a request for a build video, since my build is about $1800 and there is no video above $1300 (except the $3000 one).

It would be a beast for GAMING but if you wanted to video edit you should opt for a i7 as the i5 would be a bit sloppy and for $1800 you should be getting a i7 series processor.

Looks really good! About the build video there isn't really that much difference going from 1300 to 1800 (build wise)  If you can find one where they put in all the same parts (one graphics card, one intel cpu, one/two harddrives ect...)

As long as this is used as an gaming setup, as Waffletime says if you want to do some editing you could get an i7.

there aren't really any videos in the price range for a reason. most of the builds people request are below $100, many are below $500....

Didn't think they were all so cheap... But for $550 can't you make a difference in a build? I have never done any video editing before, so not planning on doing it on this one here either.

Looks like a boss build.  Props for the mech. keyboard!

I would advise getting either the samsung 830 or 840 pro over the regular 840 or similiarly everyone raves about the kingaton 3k ssd's here so give that a look too. if I was being picky I would also recommend getting a little more ram for the budget you are on and if you need to save money then your motherboard is a good place ti start

Thx, alot of people have said the Cherry MX Blacks are the best for gaming. I have never actually tried them (only Browns and Reds) but i would like to, I currently have a membrane keyboard.

I was thinking about the Kingston HyperX 3K, but then I thought the Samsung 840 looked cooler (Stupid since I am not going to see it...). Any reason why the regular 840 is a bad choise?

About the RAM, some other people seem to say the same thing, don't get why. I have 8GB on my current computer and I don't fell like I run out (usually have about 3GB to spare when doing what I usually do) so agian and reason why should I get more then just 8. Yes I know you said you were picky...

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qTUV NEW LINK!!!

Updated it with 16GB Memory, a headset and a HyperX 3K

h80 instead of h100

1600 RAM since the difference for gaming is basically none

asus maximus for a i5 is too much get a p8z77 asus and save 80$

go with a ghz edition 7970 or a gtx 680 4gb edition depending if you like phyx or not

I have a H100i. WHy should i get a H80?

OK i'll change it to 1600

I am not tying to "save money" on this build

THe GHz edition is a factory OC version of the standard one. Why should i just not overclock it myself?

I don't know what phyx is...

Everything looks really good to me except for the case. The 800D has very little airflow. I'd suggest something with more intake fans.

Really the only thing that uses air from inside the case is the GPU. And since I will have 2 intake fans and 1 outake fans I think it will be okay?

way too much on the motherboard get. Go for a 200 series AMD card or Nvida. 800d is outdated but still very good. I would recommend a NZXT or enthoo case. but all the other things are nice.
