I think I have finally decided what I want to put into my first gaming pc build. Please let me know if there is anything that I should change that will make it better or somewhere where I can drop some of the price.

Maybe consider getting a better gpu, something like a gtx 770 or a r9 280x, a 660 is in my opinion a little bit to weak for such a high end mobo/cpu combo. With the Cooler Master Hyper 212 you will not be able to overclock much and it is kinda underspec for that system, maybe something like the noctua nh-d14 or a corsair h100i would do better. If this exceeds your budget and the system is just for gaming and you don't need the 8 core cpu, consider somthing like this: https://teksyndicate.com/videos/build-650-gaming-pc-dec-2013 and keep the NZXT phantom 410 and Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo in your build if you like there desing.
If you are not gonna overclock then 970 mobo will be just fine. But I agree, that the 660 is way to weak for the 8core. You can get 6core and 290/780 gpu and get better game performance...
