First Build - Thoughts?

Hey,

I got my last PC built for me but want to build my next one myself. I'll be using it for gaming and streaming. I know all of these parts are compatible and the build should be able to take every game I throw at it at high settings but I just wanted another opinion. Is this too complex for my first build? Am I spending more than I have to to get this performance? Also, I live in England and wanted to spend under £1500.

Cheers!

Why not a z97 other than that its pretty solid but the psu is a bit overkill. Really if your JUST GAMING personally i would save some and go i5 as i7 are normally better for productivity and wont give that much of a boost in games but if you have it and want to spend it why not :) I take it you have an os aswell. If you go with an i5 i would say look at spending money on a better gpu. Just check benchmarks because i hear everywhere that the 780ti is still outperforming the 970 and 980 in some games when they are benchmarked, However i would recommend looking at the 980

For streaming if you want to save $$ or allocate it to somewhere else in the build here are my suggestions.

An AMD 8350 is pretty cheap and is excellent for streaming. I've got one myself and I really can't justify upgrading to an i7 and it's not even overclocked. If you're worried about temps I've got an h90 on my and with 24 celcius ambient I've never seen it go above 60 and browsing internet its around 32.  An i7 for streaming and gaming is serious overkill.

A 550-750 watt power supply would be fine in your build.

The cooler will come with thermal paste pre-applied so you don't need to buy that.

Thanks for the replies! I've changed the PSU, CPU, GPU, MOBO and removed the thermal paste as you said it already comes applied on the H100i. This is now roughly £200 cheaper, even though I upgraded to a 980!

What about the 9590 its no that much more http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/FxnXZL

Obviously it can be subbed for an 8350

Its a good build but the one i linkes is cheaper and has a better cpu however the 9590 gets extremely hot so id recommend picking up some good case fans to help cool.

I didn't know if it was worth the extra money? I saw Tek Syndicate's video on it and Logan said he was unsure about it?

I don't think the 9590 would be worth it for me.

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Willgasmic/saved/xHZrxr - This is a cheaper build I've just put together.

Also, I went on CyberPower (where I got my last gaming rig) and done something around the same price with near the same specs including next day building. Thoughts?

imo the AMD CPUs are good, but at this price range you can do better with Intel's higher single core performance.

Room for another 970 in the future as well.

I saw temperature improvements of around 3 degrees when i swapped my pre-applied thermal paste on my H100i with arctic silver 5

I have an i5 3570 in my current set up, would the 4690k be much of an upgrade? Also, how are XFX PSUs?
