First I would like to apologize in advance if this is not the proper forum for this question, I wasn't sure where would be best. What I would like to know is if anyone has any reasons I should get my components through Newegg instead of Amazon or vice versa. Amazon has better prices on nearly all of my desired parts and has basically all of them besides my OS and monitor but my concern is I have no idea how well either retailer packages their products. I don't have a computer to test my parts in to see if they are bad so if I get a part that is DOA I'll kind of be in the dark in terms of troubleshooting and don't want to make trips to the local computer place to get them tested. I just don't want to increase my chances of getting bad parts by using a retailer that is known to skimp on packaging. If there is no difference between the two and they both don't package products well then so be it. I just wanna avoid any unnecessary hassle if I can. So just let me know any horror stories or glowing reviews you may have and thanks for taking the time to let me know. :)
I personally think that amazon packages their things better, one of my biggest gripes though is damaged packaging, I got my cpu in a box with the corner torn off, and that was with FedEX so I've had a gripe with them ever since. it all just depends on who its shipped through really. both companies do a great job on packaging, and the chance of getting a DOA part is very very VERY low.
