First build! please help!

if you're going up to $600, my build was better :P

You can get a cheaper case and grab the asus mobo and they're pretty equal.

Your build has 1.65v ram and that 270x is out of stock at staples, B&H and SuperBiiz. The cheapest in-stock one is $300 at newegg pushing your build up to over $680

cryptocurrency made the price of the amd card explode the 270 was 179. now they are starting at 220

feeling bad :(

Okay guys so I've been thinking. Do I really need 8gb RAM? I mean should I cut the RAM 2 4gb and get an FX-6300 or 4300?

4 GB is a little low. It'll run ok, for the most part, but in some situations, you'll max out your RAM, which can result in a fair number of errors.

So stick with the 8gb and Athlon? Or switch to the 4gb and FX-6300

8gb and athlon imo

My mate offered me A 500gb WD Blue for a cheap as! But the model number was WD5000AAKS-00E4A0. Is that any different than the WD5000AAKS model on amazon?

Well, I personally don't like used HDDs.  Their life expectancy varies too much.

How cheap is cheap?

I don't think there should be much difference.

I found a second-hand i5-3570k with a ASUS P8Z77-V motherboard for $300 should I take it? And IF I took it would this build work? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/39TEK

Personally if it's not too sketchy I would take it.  the 3570k is still a beast

Should I keep the R7 260x or get the GTX 750?

$300 is a little steep, haggle em down a bit if you can. It is a great cpu and that motherboard is a beast. There is no doubt that this will destroy the low end amd parts you were considering with good potential overclocking. You would need an aftermarket cooler though.

In your new list:

>the hdd you've listed is way too slow for a boot drive - plus its a 2.5 inch, grab a new wd blue 3.5" 7200rpm drive for just a little more

>to cover that upgrade spend less on the case cheap ones like

This new 750ti from msi has been getting great reviews as well http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-n750titf2gd5oc, looks really sweet and overclocks like a freak.

Hey guys, It's been pretty much a year now and I just want to thank you all for the help. My PC is a beast. It can run GTAV smooth as and pretty much any game I'd want to buy. So yeah. Thanks.
