I'm planning on building my first PC and was wondering if you guys could check it out before I order the parts. I'm open to any feedback and/or compatibility issues. Thanks.
I like it, but the shopping cart won't show us all the parts in there. If you want to save some money, I'd go with 8GB of ram personally, unless you plan on doing some video editing. Other than that everything looks good, very nice selection on the GPU as well.
The motherboard seems a little overkill unless you plan on going sli down the road and if you always plan on running just one card. I would say you could easily go to a micro atx and save a few bucks and lose nothing in terms of features that you would utilize, also would consider not going z87 if you're not buying an unlocked (k) processor. The power supply is a little over the top as well as a 750w should be able to able two 780s in your rig. Also if you only plan on gaming at 1080p the 770 is a better choice since if you game on 60hz monitor you will see no difference really between the two cards.
I'm not sure if I'll be getting a second GPU in the future, so I'm keeping my options open with my MOBO. I did some research on the micro atx and decided I just can't part with the z87. Thanks for the heads up on the unlocked processor, I switched to the i5-4670K. I'm still trying to decide if I want to down-size to a 650W PSU as the difference is only $20.
Well they do make z87 micro atx boards not sure if i confused you. Also you're going to have to pick up the k processor and overclock you're going to need an aftermarket cooler just keep that in mind.
GPU wise, down the road once you need it you can just add a second but for now it will do just fine
CPU wise, It is a very powerful cpu great for multi threaded processes, multitasking and heavy loads, I was going to add a CoolerMaster 240M but pcpartpicker is being stupid and doesn't have it, with that cooler you should get 4.6/4.8 and if its a good one 5.0 Ghz.
RAM: idk, i just like this set :P
SSD: idk, yoou dont need 250GB, 120 is fine for OS and programs, HDD for big files and games.
any specific reason you choose the storm scout 2? because there are a lot better cases for a lot less, also I notice you don't have a heatsink on the list
