First build, need help

Ello! This will be my first gaming PC build, Ive already got a case, so that wont be o the list.

But I wanted to know if thier all compatable and I need to know the voltage... If there

are any shortcuts with the hardware you can give it would be much appreciated...

Parts list:

Graphics card: Radeon HD 6870

CPU: AMD FX-8320

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3

memory: Gskill sniper gaming serise 16gb DDR3 1866

Hardrive: reuseing the one in old one

case RAIDMAX aelous

all looks good to me but i would wait for other peoples opinions aswell because they may have more experience. And here is a link to a power supply calculator but i always go with more so yo can do future upgrades and just in case sort of thing, also make sure that its 80+ certified. http://www.thermaltake.outervision.com/

So I'm guessing your budget is around $700? Thats what I've priced this up as (just a little bit under actually). You can get so much better for that, so here you go. I'm guessing you're from the US? If not it won't be too much different. This is going to give you a much better GPU, retaining the the FX-8320 and giving you a modular 80+ bronze certified 700w (ample for the build) PSU. I've also changed your RAM to 16gbs of 2133mhz, but my choice of motherboard will allow you to grab two more sticks in the future.

CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor ($164.15 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Asus M5A97 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($91.99 @ NCIX US)

You don't need 8 cores for gaming, 6300 is just as good.

Don't need 16G of ram for gaming, only need 8.

Yeah that's about all.
