So i am looking to convert to the world of pc gaming and need a computer. I decided there is no better time than now to learn how to build one so here is some basic info on my skills and what i am looking for. The extent of my building knowledge is "helping" a friend build his rig while highly intoxicated needless to say it didn't work out well. As for the computer i am looking for a good gaming, capture, and editing pc that will definitely last say 3-5 years.
Here is what i put together: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/xbigsxyx/saved/Xh22FT
Questions/comments i have thought up while making this list:
I am open to over clocking though I'm not sure if the cooler would need an upgrade
How am i on ram? i have heard editing/rendering is very intensive
Am i overdoing it on the PSU?
Will that case/cooling combo work with all the parts and motherboard?
Am I crazy and completely wrong on 90% of this stuff?
Thank you in advance I've read through a couple of the forum posts and have seen just how helpful you guys and gals are.
Also looking into monitors, keyboard, and mouse. Especially monitors can be confusing at least for me so any suggestions for say a 1080p 100+hz around 24" would be much appreciated.
Build looks good but maybe consider one of these

Here are the benchmark comparisons of your card and the one i said

The build looks really good man. Looks like you got the right idea and did your research well. That CPU cooler is one of the best for cooling performance and the best for silence.
I reconfigured the build some to fit a GTX 780ti for about the same price. All the parts are still quality parts with excellent customer reviews. The case is the same design but a bit smaller (same company too).

Here is the build with a recommended monitor... Though the GTX 780 ti can power higher resolution monitors than 1080 fairly easily. At 1080, it will run everything under the sun seamlessly.

** I admit I am a logitech fan. I have been happy with them over the years. I like the screen on the keyboard to keep track of FPS, temperatures, and system resources while I work and play games too. It is also backlit with any color you want and feels good (again personal preference).
The G502 mouse has gotten a lot of good reviews, it is especially good if you have a claw or fingertip grip. IT has a lot of well placed buttons too. I am still using my G9x, but the G502 would be my modern upgrade. Nothing else is quite right for a fingertip grip.
thanks for the input i am leaning slightly towards nvidia for the shadow play feature and also i have read that it can preform better at rendering. But still a good card to consider.
feral i like that setup as well i know the ti can run beyond 1080p i just haven't looked into any and also i was thinking monetarily because i want to go dual monitors 1080p would make more sense. The monitor you chose looks awesome and i like the mouse but i would prefer a mechanical keyboard.
The Noctua NH-D14 is a beast of a cooler. You should be perfectly fine.
Editing and Rendering like large amounts of RAM. 16 gigs should get you pretty far, but look into higher clocked RAM kits, such as DDR3-1866 and DDR3-2133. Higher clocked memory will lower rendering times. It does not affect gaming, though.
PSU is overkill. That power supply should be enough for another GTX 780. If you don't plan on doing SLI in the future, you could probably get a 600w power supply and have plenty of overclocking headroom to spare.
Otherwise, it looks pretty good.
Here is a video from teksyndicate that goes over the different mechanical keyboard types. Logitech has only one mechanical keyboard type.

There are a lot of good manufacturers, but the type of switch is what is most important with mechanical keyboards. Corsair is very popular, but there are a lot of good ones. So watch the video then look around for your own style.
