First Build 3000+ Setup

So I've saved up for some time now and I'm finally able to build and own my very own PC. This will be mainly for 1440p gaming but I would like to get into OC and perhaps start my own Youtube channel so video editing as well. To be clear this isn't meant to be a practical/ frugal build since I wont be able to go all out like this for some time seeing as at some point this year I will finally have real financial  responsibilities. I already feel pretty good about the components I picked but I just want some feedback and any suggestions you all may have so I may make an informed decision.

Case: Corsair  Arctic White Graphite 760T

Monitor: 1440p XStar

Mouse & Keyboard: Undecided  :/

CPU: Intel i7 4770k

CPU Cooler: Deepcool Gamer Storm Assassin

Motherboard: EVGA Z87 Classified

RAM: Adata XPG V1.0 16GB kit  @ 1600 MHz

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 P2 (I'm aware this is overkill but it has all the features I want, has a 10yr warranty and if I ever go crazy and decide to get more than 2 GPU's I have plenty of head room to do so)

GPU: EVGA 780 Ti KPE ( I know I have no business buying this card but I can't wait for maxwell to come out to do this build so I might as well get the best 780 Ti I can)

Storage: Samsung 840 Pro 512 GB OR similarly priced 840 EVO (I'm really conflicted here)

Optical Drive: Pioneer Black Blu-Ray Burner ( I need this for my OS unfortunately)

OS: Windows 8.1 64 bit OEM

So that about does it for my ideas. I look forward to and appreciate any feedback or suggestions you may have and I apologize for the wall of text, PC PartPicker  doesn't list all of the items I have listed.

get the k70 and a g700 and that should be set, for a headset you can look at the astro's a40 with the mixamp pro. or you can get a pair of g35's and call that good too :p

Pretty sure you could go with a LGA2011 build with that budget.

Get some highly clocked memory.  It will help with video rendering.  DDR3-2133 or 2400 is good.

Mouse: Razer Deathadder or a Mionix Naos

Keyboard: If you don't need the numpad, the coming out Cooler Master Quickfire Rapid-I

If you need a numpad, get the Corsair K70.

That Adata ram can actually OC to 2133. I was thinking the Mionix Avior or the G700 as Spartan suggested and does the K70 come with MX blues?

Anyone have any thoughts as to the pros and cons for the 840 Evo and the 840 Pro?

K70 comes in reds, blues, and browns.  Corsair just announced the fully black anodized aluminum color with red backlighting for blues and browns.  I believe they have gunmetal colors as well.

I believe Samsung 840 Evo uses TLC flash, while the 840 Pro uses MLC flash.  What's the difference?  The 840 Pro will have more read and write operations, allowing for a longer lifetime.  It will also have slightly higher performance, but the real world performance difference is minimal between the 840 Evo and Pro.

Many people use the 840 Evo as their main drive just fine.  I'm personally rocking a Kingston HyperX 3K, which is similar in terms of speed and write/read to the 840 evo.

Not to interested in the red backlighting. The whole black and red color scheme is boring to me. To be honest I just have my heart set on the Corsair RGB but thats seems to be a little too far off. I should probably look into the K95...

To get an idea of the real world performance difference how much would you say the difference in boot times for the Evo and the Pro would typically be if at all? like less than 1 second or 1 second +?

Pretty much negligible, as far as I know.  The difference would likely be well under a second.

Yeah I think I'll get the 1 TB 840 Evo Newegg is listing. Can't beat near identical performance and double the capacity for only $60 more.

how about a mac pro

HA... jk I think it's a great build and i would love too have that kind of budget but here is mine as it stand's right now http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3nKDg... it seem's like i have all the feature's as your's but I already have a 240gb ssd(that I saved up for)/ window's 8.1(that i got from my dad) sitting in my laptop right now so, you got me beat on a couple thing's, great for you if you've got the money but until I get my job when i turn 16 I don't have any of the money i need
