First Build $1220 (WTF am I doing..)

This will be my first PC build ever, so I'm a little clueless on what I'm doing. Most of the products I've compilled are from the opinions of friends and family. If anyone could give some advice on whether I should keep everything or change a few things around that would be excellent, as I'm very open to suggestions. Anyways here's the setup:

  • GPU - GTX 670 $380
  • CPU - i5 3570k $220
  • HSF - 212 Evo (Coolermaster) $33
  • Mobo - Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H $179
  • RAM - Ballstix $54
  • HDD - 1TB $71
  • Powersupply - SeaSonic M12II 750W $100
  • Case - Fractal Define R4 (Black) $120
  • WiFi - TP-LINK TL-WDN3800 $34
  • Soundcard - ASUS XONAR_DG 5.1 $29

Overall I'd like to stay around the budget of $1200-1300.

What will you be using it for?

For browsing the web and email overkill.

for gaming with turning up antialiasing and anisotropic filtering, looks good

Id go for a UD3H and a Better CPU cooler, drop the soundcard (the onboard is on par with it), and also a 7970, other than that it looks solid

Might want to watch with the seasonic PSU though, the 8Pin is a little short on it for the R4 and took some playing around with to make it fit.

Specifically gaming and some music. I've got a work computer and laptop for all my other needs.

I'm picking up the Sennheiser PC360 headset which is why I opted for a dedicated sound card, but then again I wasn't sure if the mobo soundcard was good.

Also what PSU and CPU cooler would you recommend?

something along the lins of a  Phanteks PH-TC12DX,NZXT Havik 140, Xigmatek Dark Knight 2 or a Cooler Master TPC-812 should work well for what your doing and can be found for 40-50$ if you look around

As for the PSU go for an XFX Core Edition 650Watt or a Seasonic M12II 620Watt, Very solid units that should be Quiet.Cool and deliver stable power.

Honestly I'd drop the 3570k and go with an 8350. Here's my reasoning.

I know the 3570k is a great chip, and I think Intel makes great chips too. I'm not a fanboy. But the thing is, 1155 is dead, essentially. No company is going to do anything else with it. Plus, the prices on it will probably drop soon anyway. My recommendatin is the 8350. Why? The 8350 is actually a better chip when it comes tot gaming, and it's a little cheaper. Not to mention that the AM3+ chip is going to be continued for at least a little while longer.

I'm not a fanboy of either company. If the 8350 and the AM3+ socket were going to be outdated/dead soon, I'd be telling you to go for Intel's current chip. But I feel like in the long run you're going to end up regretting a 3570k. Not to mention that it seems like the 8350 beats it by a large margin in newer games (Chrysis 3, for example).

Just my two cents.

As for the headset, don buy Sennheiser, buy Audio Technica ATH-AD700
