Firefox to Keepass password extraction - how to?

Hi All,

First things first - hello All! I've seen few l1 ytube videos and though this may be a nice forum to join.

I decided to step up in op sec and have all my passwords in Keepass 2 rather than Firefox, which I used to use for last years as password manager.

Issue is, there is no apparent way to easily transfer passwords from FF to Keepass. All I found is a 10 years old post using some groove stuff etc. which seems ridiculously complected.

I would appreciate if you could let me know, how can this be done in a more straightforward way.

Here's how to do this:

1. Get yourself the Firefox password exporter

2. Export the saved passwords to an xml file

3. Create a new Keepass database or open your existing one.

4. From the file menu select the import option

5. Scroll all the way to the bottom and use the Password exporter XML option to import your previously saved XML file

6. Validate that your passwords were imported correctly.

Ask me not why, however I havent had time to test it since today. Works great BUT the FF plugin has an issue with exporting passwords with specific chars (e.g. ę), so some manual correction of XML may be needed.

Second thought - it looks like google blocked passwords extraction from Chrome, versions 61+ - any idea how to circumvent this?

@Tenfilip export from chrome to firefox than firefox to keepass?
