FIO testing - replicating a workload

Hello

I hope this is in the right section, it is about drive benchmarking.

I have been using FIO to simulate a drive write workload for some software, but it is just a best guess as to how it may behave when storing files. What I’d like to do is somehow monitor the underlying drive in Windows to see what sort of activity it has, not just read/write numbers, but file sizes, frequency, randomness, IO depth, and so on, so I can punch these numbers into FIO.

Is there some software I can install to find this? If not, how would you go about figuring this out? I’m trying to quantify RAID level performance where storage can be a bottleneck. The incoming data gets processed and then stored to the drives.

Thanks
