Long story short, I’m having a difficult time finding a fan for my brother’s laptop… The best I’ve found is for a similar model.
Has anyone come across some collection of internal components used in various computers? IE: this model fan was used in whatever laptops by all these manufacturers. (if that makes any sense)
I’ve ordered the part and going to find out the hard way… But it would be nice if there was something to reference in the future.

Fans should be the same voltage etc but I have never done it
I’m more concerned about the mounting bracket/holes in this instance… And I guess something like the heatpipe assembly might be a better example.
There are some manufacturers that specialise in make laptops for the grey market. Clevo comes to mind. The same laptop sold by many companies with a different spec and a different label on the lid. If the parts you need come from one of these then you may have better luck. Find the parent laptop and you have the starting point for the spares you need.
If not then you are going to be looking to buy second-hand laptops of the same model in eBay and pulling them apart.
There is also the possibility that a local laptop repair shop may have the contacts you need. They will have access to the catalogues needed to correctly identify the part by part number and know where to order the item.
