As promised just a little update of my system from the last time I showed my sleeving work. There was a long time between my posts because of a backorder of the heatkiller GPU block was a good month and a half. Anyways I went with Black Ice rads, Koolance CPU block, Heatkillers for the GPUs, bitspower for the fittings and the resevoir, an MCP 655 pump from swiftech, Ice Dragon coolant, and durelene tubing.
I am suprised I got that 120 extreme to fit in the bottom of the case, but am glad I found a way. I needed all the heatexchange area I could get. Any future rig I will build will have to be in a CaseLabs case as to avoid these small spaces and limited cooling options(ie rad space). Anyways still got a few more mods to finish before this is done. Adding 2 120 fans to the from and removing the preinstalled 200. Removing the front IO and power switches and installing Vandal switches. Making and installing an acrylic side panel. Pending good or positive responses I will gladly post them in future blogs.
Dear god... I have been waiting for this ever since your sleeving pictures! Man - that is one clean loop :D Why did you go with Corsair SP fans? I was under the impression that they are pretty loud, and don't have the best CFM or static pressure. Seems like Scythe Gentle Typhoons would have been appropriate, but those Corsair fans do look good ;)
Great work man! I would get a custom SLI bridge, but that is just my OCD :D
I could've actually used more to make the whole thing a bit cleaner, but after waiting for what seemed like forever I just wanted to get on water and run with it. Now in the future I might update the loop, but for now it does what it is intended to do.
The SP120s aren't that loud seeing as how I wear headphones while gaming(even if I didn't wear headphones they wouldn't be considered loud). They have really good static pressure and the CFM stat isn't that important for rad cooling. Scythe GTs are good fans, but Bneg on OC.net as well as others swear by the SP120s and now I know why. I was thinking about maybe just doing a custom graphic on the bridge, but I am kinda warming up to its look. Different folks different strokes I guess. Running in Parallel just FYI.
Great looking water loop man! The white liquid looks very cool. This makes me want to watercool my rig more! My haf 932 needs some painting before that though >.>
@Mich - That would be a silverstone air penetrator 120mm, really great fans! They have led versions also.
It's an silverstone air penetrator(like zlink8 pointed out). The main reason for going with it at the bottom is because it has that reverse curve grating on the back which helps in keeping the wire from getting snagged in the fan.
