Finally made the decision

For months now, I have been roaming the interwebs and studying all the parts. I even had a topic here with some interesting feedback. But now I actually hit the buy button. There might be some parts that could be debated, but most things have a reason from my perspective. Hopefully, everything will arrive by next weekend.

Bought and waiting for arrival:

  • CM 690 II Advanced (RC-692A-KKN5)
  • Asrock Z77 Extreme4
  • Intel Core i5-3570K
  • G.Skill RipjawsX 8GB (1600Ghz, CL7)
  • Mushkin Chronos 120GB SSD
  • Sapphire HD7870 (11199-00-20G)

I know I'm lacking an aftermarket cooler, but I wanted to get a good start build that I can improve on later. I need to watch my wallet a bit because of more expenses in the near future (another trip to China).
This whole thing costed me 795.30 euros. Not bad I suppose?

Oh yes, there's already an Antec 850W HCP PSU here, and some HDD's I'll be inserting too.

So, feel free to laugh at me if I made some horrible mistakes, but I'd like to ask if it would be interesting to record the assembling of this? I also have a heap of small electronics and LED's, which I might use to pimp it a little. Any wishes or suggestions?

Im not so sure about the video, seems overdone to me, but i would love to see some pictures on the show your build topic

Yeah, good idea. I kind of hate my current case, I had to cut into one of the slots so the HDMI cable would fit.

Hopefully the old PC (which will need a little work) can be sold for some cash. My aunt could use a new PC ;-)
