Finally got my fx 8350

finally got my 8350 and i hooked it up to my build with a corsair h80i. everything is running good so far. 36c is the most i seen so far. its not overclocked.

thought i let everyone who answered my questions know.

thank you all for helping me with this choice of cpu. :)

congrats and welcome to 2012

Time to overclock

no i am not going to overclock this cpu.

Aww, why not?

FX-line is great for overclocking.

Wut. lol

That is what the 8350 is designed to do. You can easily get them to ~4.6 at a minimum. Mine will go to 5.1...

Not overclocking makes no sense, especially considering that it increases single-threaded performance, which 8350 lacks.

And well, buying 8350 (as opposed to 8320) and liquid cooler, and not overclocking it is just stupid.

Dude its your computer you do what you want :)

Unless you got a cheaper motherboard, in which case not overclocking is the safer choice (and smarter). The purchase of a liquid cooler is indeed a bit misplaced then.

I'm running my 8350 stock as well and it's doing just fine. Waiting to get a sabretooth so that I can crank it up though (current motherboard is a bit... "melted").

overclock dat shit.

He has a motherboard with 760G chipset so it makes sense not to overclock. Anyways, the 8350 is quite capable even at stock speeds i think.

Sorry guys, the information on my system is out of date. I have a sabertooth 990 X motherboard. The other two upgrade you already know. All the other parts are still in the system.

I could overclock it, but it would be an automatic overclock. I have no skills in manually overclocking it.

If you are interested in overclocking, there should be plenty of guides available. When I overclocked my i5 there was even a guide specifically for overclocking Sandy/ivy bridge CPUs on Asrock motherboards (which is what I own).

Make sure you do have a good aftermarket cooler though.

Well now you have a great overclocking combination with that motherboard and cpu. Might be worth trying it if you find someone willing to help you or find enough information otherwise.

But again, you should do what you want really. I'm happy enough with my 8350 at stock for the time being.

overclocked to 4.3Ghz. the temp doing benchmark for final fantasy is 45 c with the corsair h80i. and 1080p max settings.

I moved from mt 3570K to an 8350, and I have to say. running my 8350 stock was snappier, things looked sharper, and general use has improved exponentially over my 3570K at 4.5Ghz, I now regret not going 8350 from the start.

it's a fantastic core and I really look forward to the development of the FX line, because I personally don't like where Intel is going for use in my personal rig, Server side however Intel is looking beautiful tbh.

my 8350 was at 4.3ghz but i put it back on stock. my ram is only 1333mhz . i don't know if it helps are hurts it.

Why did you put it back to the stock settings?

1333Mhz doesn't matter. RAM speed on systems with dedicated GPUs is pretty much irrelevant. OCing will help you performance regardless of RAM speed.

i really like my 8350.i will stick with this processor over intel.

ok i will put it back on 4.3ghz
