Asus has released a new AMD 990fx sku that rivals the technology of the "blue" team boards. The new ASUS M5A990FX Pro R.2 has the dual intelligent processor 3 technology, 6+2 phase power delivery, TPU and EPU switches, and a maximum ram frequency of 2133 mhz. These boards would work great with a new AMD Vishera chip droping in Q4 2012.
Looks pretty good for $160 (currently). I haven't seen that many USB ports on the rear I/O in a while. I would consider this for a new build.
I want this, but it's still outa my price range for a while. I do love the fact of all the connectivity though. Maybe if I ask real nicely Asus will let me review this... maybe?
nice board but i don't like the bulldozer cpu's and the phenoms II are just blasted away by intel.... :(
before commenting update your information about the AMD3+ boards
AMD3+ runs bulldozers cpu but also APU's and there are going to be new AMD CPU that just better then the phll .
Also when you compare price for buck the AMD wins but intel has better chip .
Am3+ is for Bulldozer processors, the Llano apus are on FM1 and the Trinity are FM2 socket mobos
