Final checks for a £1000 Black & White build

This will be my first time building my own pc. I have had two crappy laptops in the past but i want to start to play games seriously but my old laptop stops me.

I am 14 in 8 days so this will be a birthday gift along with 600 pound i have saved over the years.

This is what i have come up with. All the parts were picked by me and will have my sisters mate to overlook me building it.

The kind of games i will be playing is Dayz mod, Arma 2/3, CS:GO, BF hardline and just steam games in general.

The only reason i am paying 10 pound more for the newer board is because of the color scheme.

Thanks for telling me about double posting and could you tell me why do you think it is overkill

okay thx i will look into the monitor

My input for you http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/NJxYQ7

Hope I helped :)

I actually think that the build you've created is perfectly fine.

You have no CPU cooler. Does that mean you're not going to overclock? Because if so, you don't need need a Z board or a K cpu.

If you do want to overclock get a hyper 212 evo and wait until the end of the month for when we'll see benchmarks popping up showing devil's canyon overclocking capacity.

I have the NZXT 440H myself. It's really pretty but that's also a downside because I feel like its beauty needs to be preserved by watercooling your cpu in stead of mounting a giant aircooler in the middle of your motherboard.

If you're going to stream I assume you might be making videos? In that case shadowplay is something to keep in mind. Which is why gtx 770 is a good choice.

Also, don't get kingston ssd. I also was not aware of this but fortunately the good people on this forum told me about this. Apparently kingston's been fiddling with the quality of their ssd's and their v-series are bad now. I'm just passing this information along; avoid them.

I find Intel's Quick-Sync really good for streaming and recording.  Haven't tried Shadowplay as my only nvidia card I have right now is a GTS 250.

Kingston indeed has cheaped out on their V-series of SSDs.  They've replaced the flash with cheaper asynchronous flash, which results in much slower reads and writes.  However, their new Fury line of SSDs should be using synchronous flash.

Op´s original build looks fine to me.

Graphics card looks overkill for the monitor (It's 60HZ right? if it's 120HZ then this comment would be different) and the games you play.

Sorry? this sounds totaly nonsense to me? Why would you downgrade a gpu for a gaming rig? Sorry but there are alot of very GPU demending games arround, on which even highend gpu´s struggle to stay constant 60 fps.. Like crysis3 for example.

I would personaly go with a R9-280X instead cause of the extra vram.

offcourse for ARMA DayZ CS you wont realy need that much gpu horsepower, but BF4 definitely likes it. and if you can afford it extra gpu power never hurts.

When upgrading , everything is never smooth , you essentially pay 2x the transport ( ~ 10€ each ) and it's better , at least I think , to have a gpu that is as good as can get. I had a 670 , tested hardline and it isn't enough , although it's 1.5 years old and if I had folowed your logic I would have gotten a 660.

Although I think a 280x or second hand gpu would be best.
