Fedora + Wine + Overwatch = "Could not locate resources. (0xE00300E0)"?

I’ll try to keep this short, but i’m out of ideas and could use some community help.

I have Overwatch working perfectly on Ubuntu with latest wine esync build. Basically did nothing to it other than getting DXVK 0.70 and i’m good.

Now i’m trying to get OW to run on Fedora, because i like Fedora over Ubuntu. I tried the Lutris installer, which seems to pick my settings (wine esync plus latest DXVK). Installation is fine (though i always have to Delete the Battle Net Folder in Program Data to make the download start). But Overwatch will not launch. The Battle.net app will just close and The Game throws an error “Could not locate resources. (0xE00300E0)”.

I’ve tried all the know solutions. Reinstallation, deleting Overwatch.exe and doing the “Scan & Repair”. I also tried different wine Versions through Lutris and with and without DXVK. I did a manual Install with a clean Prefix in Lutris (without the Script, just downloading battlenet directly). No Dice.

I’m on the same Nvidia Driver as on Ubuntu. I even tried copying the full Overwatch folder over from my Ubuntu install and pointing battlenet to the Ubuntu Overwatch Folder. Both get recognized but produce the same error.

I’m out of ideas. Any here has any tips on what the Problem might be? I really want this to work, because after a step back and some patience, Fedora is working a lot better for me than Ubuntu overall. Otherwise i’m back to dualbooting to Ubuntu for Overwatch, which is better than booting Windows for that but still inconvenient. I think there must be something i’m doing wrong here.

Never attempted this personally, but this guy seems to know what he is doing. He’s using Arch though. Not sure how different the process would be if at all.
