Great to get a discussion going about peoples favourite movies, mines is the godfather and favourite series would be LOTR. But i especially love the old films like Sunset Bld, anything hitchcock, double indemnity, casablanca etc. and of course the spaghetti westerns
A couple of my favorites are The Matrix (because its The Matrix that's why), and Inception because horn noises!

Cloud Atlas. Because it has the most unique and interesting story I have ever seen in a movie,
Cloud Atlas is my favourite movie of the last few years, I thought it was amazing. I cannot get anyone else to watch it though :P
Not only is it a great story but it's technically amazing. The way in which they were able to tie six unrelated stories together that weren't even in the same genre and make it flow so seamlessly is incredible.
My all time favourite movie is Apocalypse Now, it is a true masterpiece and there will never be anything like it made again. Hearts of Darkness, the documentary about the making of Apocalypse Now is also pretty amazing.
Another favourite movie of mine is Oldboy, the Korean one from 2003. If you haven't seen it then do yourself a favour and watch it, don't look it up and definitely don't watch the shitty remake from last year, just watch it.
- Avengers- What else can i say? It brought a lot of my favorite heros together in a kick-ass movie!
- Limitless- I Love the concept of opening up the mind (whether with a drug or not) and seeing what you can do with it.
- Inception- The idea of affecting / subplanting peoples ideas and thoughts by entering there mind was just awesome and I alround really like the movie.
these are a few off the top of my head

- Black Swan - One of the most well done psychological thrillers I've ever seen; big twist at the end.
- Sin City - The aesthetic is awesome; a perfectly adapted graphic novel.
- American Psycho - Very creepy film that mixes satire with horror.
- Anything by Guy Ritchie: Snatch; Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels; Rock n Rolla; Sherlock Holmes. All great films with great cinematography.
yeah, i REALLY enjoyed that movie. maybe it is because i didn't read the book, but i don't know why a lot of people did not like that movie.... so odd.
there are TOO many movies i like, but when i think about movies i love, and have seen a bazillion times over and over..... would have to be:
Star Wars: original Trilogy
Back to the Future trilogy
It's a Wonderful Life
there are too many awesome movies i could list here, so i will refrain. BUT, i will note some movies i like which are not widely appreciated.
Matrix Reloaded (i actually REALLY like the story. the CGI is terrible though)
Prometheus (there are a few problems, but overall, i like it a lot. can't wait for the sequel)
The Forbidden Planet (not that it is not appreciated, but most people have not seen/heard of it. fun flick!)
Yes its really hard to name one, they're so many you have a great connection with.
Gr33nL34f if you like robert redford i highly recommend the sting (you might get a little reference from bioshock infinite ;))
And yes I have seen Oldboy and words can't describe how unique that film is!
