I prefer oscar mayer, but my second favorite brand is ball park. What are yours?
The hod dogs made at my local butcher shop are excellent. I usually only buy those. I've also made my won out of pork/beef and venison (deer).
A major brand though? Hmm Oscar Mayer and Ball Park are good. They taste about the same to me. But that is prob because I load mine up with chili and cheese.
There's a place somewhat near me that makes some pretty good hot dogs. Sadly, though, it is indeed a small drive so my only option is Costco. Costco hot dogs are pretty damn good though, imo.
Nathan's hot dogs are great i also like costco.
If you are talking like common grocery store brands then then Miller's. Preferably the Cajun ones with natural casings if I can find them.
I normally just buy sausage.

Yes to local/homemade! It's nice to actually know what's in there hidden under the salt and flavorings.
i love hotdogs and yeah i know they are made from all the other pieces of the animals but that doesnt stop me from loving them. allas, i've stopped eating them because they are so bad for you. all the nitrates and sodium they put into it is pretty much poison, not worth it in the long run.
