I did a reddit search and found many like to use Macrium. Do you all agree?
Anything else anyone likes better or?

dd or tar depending on the situation. It’s always there and works for my cloning needs.
On windows, I liked the Acronis suite, but if you don’t pay, I think it nags Like a mofo.
Otherwise I would recommend Clonezilla if one does not want to go Linux livecd.
Might be a pain with partitions over 2TB(?4?) Though
There are opensource tools which bring GParted to Windows for cloning and an automated shutdown after completion.
If you want to be cheap/lazy, buy a brand which includes a license of Acronis.
if you are using Samsung nvme drives you have access to MaGIc software on windows it works well.
Crucial SSD’s used to come with a licence of Acronius.
Will this clone a live, running install?
Does it copy both from&to, Samsung and non-samsung drives?
Like, if you got C:\ on a Samsung SSD, can you clone it (and be bootqbke) on say, a WD HDD?
I got a few Samsung SSD’s, but don’t really go for the windows “brand” / manufacturers software like that, if I can use an agnostic version
it should work. but i haven’t done that in a while. last time i backup/ cloned my laptops 128gb nvme drive to hdd as i was installing a new 1tb boot drive. there is issue with resizing the drive in the end but you can resize that.
and the hdd was formatted before cloneing so be ready to loose data.
Just keep backups.
