Fastest Write Speed HDD's?

No I don't want a Velociraptor, they cost too much. Do you guys know of any places where I can look at HDD benchmarks? I need it for recording 1080p60fps with Dxtory, and my Seagate drive just isn't cutting it, not to mention it has my OS and games on it. Does anybody know of the faster drives?

apparently, the Hitachi Deskstar 7k4000. It's a 4TB drive, so it's also going to pricey. I would look into other 1TB platter drives, such as the Seagate Barracuda 7200.14

The most recent Seagate Barracudas peak around 198MB/s for r/w, and I have one, it's god damn fast for a mechanical drive, almost as fast as a low end SSD.  Bought it for that reason, capturing game footage.

I'm gonna check that out. Also, are you maks? 0_o

Also, is this one of the more "recent" Barracudas? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148767

Umm... yes and no. It has a recent model name, but the specs are severely lacking. The ones we're talking about have 1TB per platter, and a beefy amount of cache (64MB). That drive only has 500GB, and only 16MB of cache.

This is your best bet if you're aiming at the lowest price:

Yep, this is Maks, and as the guy down below said, it's about the dense platters and beefy cache.  The 1tb, 2tb, and 3tb drives are pretty fast, and for capture, they are pretty nice.

So essentially the denser the platter, the faster the drive? It looks like I'm going with a 1TB Barracuda.
