Hello folks, not sure if this is the correct place to put this. I was looking to build a new PFSense box and purchased this Intel I350-T4 from this newegg seller, this is the store link: Intel Ethernet Server Adapter I350-T4 (I350T4V2) - Newegg.com
Upon receiving the card (see pictures) I noticed it looks exactly like a counterfeit card shown in this servethehome thread: Comparison: Intel i350-T4 Genuine vs Fake | ServeTheHome Forums
Note the crystal on the card I received is not branded “TXC” and the word “Delta” is printed on the transformer when it should be embossed. Also the heat-sink looks smaller than the genuine one on the servethehome forum page.
Now I normally wouldn’t really care and will just sent it back to newegg (which I’ll do tomorrow), but the seller sent me an email addressing me by my full name and defending their product is genuine. Not sure if this is an attempt to intimidate me or I’m being paranoid/misinterpreting them (willing to give them the benefit of doubt), but I wanted to get out this warning: fakes are out there!
Also if someone could please link me to place where I can buy a genuine Intel I350-T4 that would be great!
