Easy solution, Download Spotify and Pandora and just look at bands that relate to the music you already like.  It's a great way to discover whats out there if you're having a hard time looking.

It took my a LONG time to build my music bank up and sometimes it was just on finding out who was part of their music scene or other projects those musicians made, or even their friends.

Way too many on here to +1 lol
maybe some Strapping young lad, Into Eternity, Pain, Hypocrisy, Cryptopsy, Sonata Arctica, Blind Guardian...
I tend to listen to alot of female fronted metal, power metal & some occasional Folk but yeah people have provided a lot of great ones here. \m/  x_X  \m/

30 replies and noone has mentioned Iron Maiden? Their live stuff from the 80's & 90's is awesome. I'd also add Sabaton to the list. World War Live has most of their best stuff on it.

The rest of the bands I'd recomend have already been posted by others.

The following are as well good tunes to headbang to =)

Dååth - Self-Corruption Manifesto (groove metal)

Mastodon - Blood and Thunder (progressive metal)

Static-X - Push It (nu metal)

Fear Factory - Archetype (industrial metal)

Nightwish - Amaranth (symphonic metal)
