Factory Installed Thermal Paste

Hello,

 

If there is already thermal paste applied to my heat sink (Kraken X60) from the factory do I need to take it off and reapply new stuff or can I use the factory installed thermal paste?  Also if I do need to take the paste off, how should I and what brand/type should I use?

The thermal paste on your x60 is fine - it is FAR superior to the crappy intel stock stuff

You don't need to, but I would. It isn't going to be that great of quality.

If you do remove it, ise isopropyl alcohol and coffee filters. Replace it with either Promilatech PK-1, AS5, CoolLaboratory Liquid Ultra, Noctua NT-H1, etc., and you'll be great.
