Extra Chassis Fans

Hey guys i built a mid-range gaming PC the other month and am wondering if there are any good suggestions for some 80mm chassis fans, as i want to mount preferably about 2 on my side panel sound/loudness isnt my main issue (although within reason) just need some suggestions on a fan that delivers good airflow, that is PWM connector

80mm fans are never very good, normally quite loud, and not many cases use them. But I suppose if you've got no option they're better than nothing. If you want a bit more silence get something like this

if you want cooling over silence get this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CIT-FN8M-Silent-PC-12V-4-Pin-Molex-Case-Fan-80mm-/380388859233?pt=Computing_ComputerComponents_Fans_Heatsinks_SR&hash=item5890f15d61#ht_1766wt_1163

I would avoid getting the cheappy china blue LED fans because they're like launching a rocket in your ear.

they look good and compare to fans that i have been looking at myself, artic cooling is a well known brand so i may tilt towards them as they also look nice. Are 80mm really that bad? ive only had 120mm fans but i opted to go for quantity and try and install 3/4 fans 80mm around the side panel to maximise cooling but is it a better option to have 120mm fans as ive currently got 2 in my case and they work very nicely

Well, if you have the option to mount 120mm fans instead of 80mm, on your sidepanel, or wherever, I suggest going with a 120mm rather than multiple 80mm. First of all, you'll get better airflow and second,it's going to be a lot quieter, even though they're bigger.

Also, there are some 120mm out there that have both good airflow AND are really quiet, Noctua for example, check out their fans.

They seem quite high end fans but im from the UK looking at the price there £20 a pop on ebay, but i guess your paying for quality. what are your guys thoughts of this fan http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Arctic-Cooling-Arctic-F12-120mm-Case-Fan-/300591575940?pt=Computing_ComputerComponents_Fans_Heatsinks_SR&hash=item45fca77384#ht_1563wt_1139

That Arctic Cooling fan can be a pretty good choice too, at 23dB, you're barely going to notice it.

It's a bit weird though, cause on eBay it says 57CFM, whereas on the AC site, they specify 74CFM for the F12 version (the one you're looking at). I'd go with the AC official specs, and 74CFM is not bad at all, considering the noise level. All in all, it should do a good job.

I perfer these:

Cooler Master Sickleflow

Gelid Wing 12

You can also get the cooler master fans with blue or red LEDs instead of green, or you can also get them without any LEDs.

Gelid fans are sexy as hell.

I'm pretty happy with my Xigmatek XLF-1253. Sexy and well performing at will.

as pictured here:

(lol, I know it's not a pic centered for the fan, but hey it was the only pic I had on this work pc)
