Hey people of Tek Syndicate, I'm building a budget rig. Here it is: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/HUFN
Have you already bought the parts or are you still up to suggestions?
Looked at build, nothing to see here.....
Kidding :)
I ordered parts on Sunday, be here on Thursday!
Why didn't you get a video card?
*facepalm* to plasticred
nice build dude, only a one thing i would personaly change is the cooling, from what iv seen the h60/i does not perform as well as a high end air based cooler, like the silver arrow extreme, noctua-d14, or phantek i cant remeber the name of buts its a beast. they are about the same price and are less likely to brake on you compared to a close loop, but if your set on a close loop water cooling sollution go h100/i or a kraken x60, then it's actually worth it.
No need to be a twat. I am new to PCs like I said in my first post. I asked a question as I didn't see a graphic card in the parts list, if you know the answer then share instead of posting a useless meme.
This person is most likely going to use integrated graphics from his CPU. You don't need to use a video card for graphics, but video cards make the graphics way better.
Ok thanks for the answer. So can you still play graphic intensive games using the integrated graphics?
Thanks thanos, I wanted an H60 just becuase I wanted to know how to do water cooling and I figured it would be a tidbit quieter. And plasticred, welcome to Tek Syndicate. I didn't go with a video card because the processor is called an APU or accelerated processing unit. They have a CPU and GPU in one processor, and use your system RAM. I'm gonna do some tests with RAM speeds and capacity to perfromance to find the sweet spot for APUs. With fast RAM and about 8 GB, you can play games at 720p on max for the most part or 1080p on about medium/high for the most part.
What games are you talking about? If it's new games in general, you'll probably be able to play BF3 @ 720P on Low.
You can get roughly 30 FPS @ 1080P on Low, but that's not a playable frame rate for a multiplayer game. Need at least 60 FPS.
Alphabet! thanks for being insanely nice to our new pal plasticred! we need more people like you and plus one to that build man i really like the apus i have on in my laptop the integrated stuff rocks for 720p gaming which is perfect for on the go on my laptop while in my desktop i use a 965 with a 7870 best of luck!
lol i get your angle alphabetical and you have already ordered the parts so it's not a big thing, but closed loop water cooling is designed as a "out of the box solution" which is actually easier to mount than the air coolers iv mentioned just cause they are BIG lol and obtrusive, unlike the waterblock which you have all the room in the world and the 60ml rad which is mounted just like a fan and your good to go. if your really want to learn about the in's and out's of water cooling, custom is the way to. cause when you go custom even in the most baisic loop there are certain things you have to factor in, that just just dont need to be thought of in a close loop.
all that aside you should still be able to get a tidy OC on that apu, and i wouldnt mind seeing how the oc actually affects the performance on your apu.
Another reason I wanted a H60 is because I want this build to be very tidy. Eventually, I will make big upgrades, and get a 300R with a side window so I want everything aesthetically pleasing.
dude screw the 300R dont get me wrong, 300R is a nice case but it just a slightly nicer looking and slightly better airflow than the 200R there is still plenty you can do with that 200R. it's your choice at the end of the day, but if you really just want it for the side window, i would just get clued up about how to use a dremal and custom fit your own, much cheaper and you can have any window design you like, your not just limited to the corsair selection which if i remeber rightly is just 1 window. there also a few other custom mods you can do with that 200R and a personaly customised case can look a lot sexier that a factory prefab job, just a thought for ya
That would be fun to make my own side window. Then I could finally make mounts for 200mm fans! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
If you can, trade back the ram and get some 2400mhz sticks. (at least CL10 if possible)
Trust me, it's worth it. It will give you 5-10 fps + in most cases. Also, add the max of 2GBs of VRAM to the IGP in BIOS, they seem to perform more smoothly that way.
In fact an APU is the only case when it's worth buying high clocked memory. On a regular desktop, it doesn't even make 1 FPS difference going from 1333 to 2133mhz. In gaming of course.
that's the ticket ;) and eventually if you do get confident with doing mods you can even custom mount a 360 RAD in the front, oh yes it can be done....:)

Why would you watercool in such a low quality case? Don't get me wrong, the 200R is a great case for the money, but genereally, when watercooling, you want a nice, clean, case, such as a CaseLabs case or an 800D or 900D.
