Interesting shape - let us know how it goes!

yes it's pretty interesting. the shape (height) is adjustable too which is cool

just wish it had a decent sensor

Everyone keeps talking about the sensor lol it's not that bad

I guess I'm just not hardcore enough for optical mice ;)

Btw, I updated the first post with some video goodness if anyone is interested

what downside is there to optical mice that you would have to be hardcore to be ok with?

The sensor isn't that bad? It has significant and inconsistent acceleration so that it is impossible to build any type of muscle memory with fast movement...

Have you tried this specific mouse personally or are you just repeating information you've read about other mice using this sensor?

I experience neither "significant or inconsistent acceleration" with this mouse

I've spoken to engineers that say that there is nothing a mouse company can do to fix the acceleration issue of the 9800 sensor. You can also see in this video at 11:30 the mionix representative compares the 3310 sensor in the avior 7000 and the 9800 sensor in the avior 8200 and says that the algorithms avago and pixart have in the 9800 sensor are inaccurate and that mouse manufactuers can't fix it themselves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u22bHE5d5ZE#t=690

many people don't have competent enough mouse technique to notice flaws in mouse sensors and trying to get used to mice with inferior sensors and refusing to accept that the sensor is defective, won't help you ever get decent mouse technique.

"Company A's products suck dick."

- Company B

Cool dude, I'm not big on bench racing so I'll just keep enjoying my games until I'm good (hardcore) enough to warrant a better sensor

how are you going to develop consistent aim with an inconsistent sensor?

to be able to train yourself to aim at a high degree, you need a decent sensor, which the 9800 isn't.

to be able to train yourself to aim at a high degree,

I'll just keep enjoying my games until I'm good (hardcore) enough to warrant a better sensor

I feel like there's information that's not being looked at right now.

well that's kinda the point of my rebuttals Atatax. i am in no way claiming this is the best sensor available but based on my real world experience I feel many of the previous statements are over-exaggerated.
