Hi guys, 

which from those two is better for gaming on a single monitor 1080p?

Depends on the games you like to play.  They are generally on par as far as performance in games is concerned.  I would go with the HD 7970.  It has more VRAM which would be useful in heavily modded games such as Skyrim.  It is also a bit cheaper and comes with a free copy of Crysis 3 on Newegg.  I recommend this version of the 7970...

Also, the HD 7970 is now supported by Adobe Premiere, so CUDA isn't necessarily an excuse anymore.
