EVGA GeForce GTX 650 2GB Video Card-Should I get it?

Hey,

doing a build and would like opinions on this GPU. The customer has quite a tight budget so this looked the bomb. What do you think? Should I go with this for the build?

Why dont you tell us the rest of the build and/or his budget?
But yes the GTX 650 is an excellent card, if he's an avid gamer, ask him to splurge for the 660

I'm gonna fit it with a AMD FX 4170 @ 4.2ghz, an ASUS M5A92 R2.0 ATX Motherboard, 8gb of 1866 ram, and a 500gb toshiba hdd. His budget is £500 and with a case and PSU this comes to £480

What are the prices he is paying for his processor and graphics card?

With the options I've gone for, he'll be paying £90 for the CPU and £120 for the GPU. It's solely for gaming so he needs no more than 4 cores, hence my choice of the FX 4170.

Can you link me what retailer you are using? We need to explore possible better options for the 90 euro range and for the 125 euro graphics card range as well(for example a HD7770 might be in the same price range but it offers far more performance)

Sure can

Yeah most of my customers don't have a set budget so I could do with some insight.

Processor the FX4300 http://www.amazon.co.uk/AMD-FX4300-Edition-4-0GHz-Socket/dp/B009O7YU3S/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1356268324&sr=1-1 , it is the new AMD Vishera which is quite a bit better then the Bulldozer FX4100, here is a bench scroll to the bottom for the few games bench: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/700?vs=434 That is agaisn't a 8 core bulldozer, of course 8 core is meaningless in gaming but it shows the difference in speed of the cores in gaming. Rougly the same price as the FX4100.

HD 7770 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-Radeon-Edition-GDDR5-Retail/dp/B009YTT5RW/ref=sr_1_7?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1356268471&sr=1-7 , It performs better ingames then the 650 for only 101 euros! Here is a bench of the two cards: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/681?vs=536

Now for a serious increase in gaming performance for about 130 euros, the HD7850 http://www.amazon.co.uk/XFX-Radeon-7850-Edition-GDDR5/dp/B009PV5NYS/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1356268793&sr=1-1 Here is some bench of the HD7850 vs the 650 : http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/681?vs=549 quite a dramatic difference.

Thank you for the help mate this will be all the better for it :D
