EVGA Classified SR-2 (photos added) and sold

(Photos added below)

Been a while. I used to come over before the name change. I am glad things worked out for Wendell and crew.

I have a EVGA Classified SR-2 New in Box. I have had this board for years. I am torn between going ahead and building it. (I'm working my way up to being a content creator and figure it will be a good productivity rig) and selling it.

I know this MOBO has a cult following and has some value, especially still in the box with the cables and manuals. But I have no idea what it would be worth in today's market.

I'm looking for advice. To me, this is just a cool MOBO. To someone else, it may be the holy grail.

Like new as in sealed and everything? Sell it and by yourself an X99 rig with the money. That sucker has got to be worth stupid money if its not been opened.

It has been opened and fondled. Never had a single thing plugged into it.

Damn if it still was sealed up it would be worth a ton. Those boards have a special following indeed. You could list it on eBay, just start the bidding high. Maybe $250-300 starting. See how that goes, as $350-ish is the range I can find any selling at, and that was 2 years ago. You probably have one of the last around still to be sold. The only one's I can find with a list price that are up right now are on alibaba ($290 and $300), and you have to contact the seller to buy. Not too sure they'll have any stock, but idk because they don't list if they do.

wanna give it to me? We can be friends ya know.....

I second this. Getting the stuff to make a system for it might be costly. They go for quite a lot on Ebay.

They sell for like 900 something still.

Either build it and have a balls to the wall insane machine, or get 900 and build a shittier machine or buy school books.

Either way.

I was waiting for the "give it to me" post. Didn't take long. :)

$900!!?! You're kidding right? Is that a legit number? That kinda makes me lean toward selling it. I don't think I would be buying school books, it's been over 30 years since I left college. :)

In case anyone wanted to see it:

Yeah $900 isn't quite accurate, but I could see it going well deep into $300's if not $400's. Maybe if you get a couple people that REALLY want it, $500. But $900 seems a bit too far.

That is a number I have heard from a lot of people.

I sold my SR-2 for $200, $900 is what the ebay scalpers want for them but they are worth between $200 - $500 depending on what has been added and what condition. (Exception if they have the EK two-piece waterblock and two chips already installed, those will fetch $650+)

@RazzBarlow7
This board would probably sell for $300 - $400 as a 'virgin' board to somebody who is familiar with the board already (i.e. owned one or currently owns one) and is looking for another. Overclock.net and TechPowerUp forums are great places to sell these since there is always one person looking to buy.

That said with two X5660s overclocked to around 4.2GHz the system performance is still right around Haswell-EP at the cost of about 1.7x the power draw. You can still get incredible performance from these boards with the right combo of parts so long as you don't mind the power.

Thanks everyone for the input. I decided to put it up on eBay. I started the auction at $299, it'll sell for whatever it sells for. I will never do this board the justice it deserves. Hopefully someone else can appreciate it for what it is.

As a follow-up:

This mobo sold on eBay for $598.

I'm satisfied with that. I'll order up the Fanatec sim steering wheel base and pedals I've had my eye on.

Thanks to everyone here for your input.
