Hi, Im building a rig and need help deciding on a GPU. Im debating between the EVGA gtx 660 (non-ti) Superclocked or the XFX 7870 or the HIS 7870 which I saw TekSydicate recommend. I would be going with the 7870 but nvidia has features like PhysX which make the gaming experience nicer. It would be great if somebody could help me out. I have seen some videos on youtube and they both seem to run games on high to ultra settings at 45+ fps, but, I have seen some benchmarks that say the 7870 is better.
The 600 SC is $199 and the 7870s are both at $239.
If price isn't a concern, go for the 7870. They are the competitors for the 660ti, therefore should be better overall than the regular 660. But if it is, and that the games that you play most of the time are listed here, then the 660 could be your choice. Though I would recommend getting a 7850 if they're not there.
Anyway, I don't think that Phisx is really worth it since 1)Not many games use it 2)Doesn't do a whole lot
7870ghz edition
overclocked sometimes it can even match the peformance of a 7970/7950 which goes neck and neck with 680/670's
Thanks for your reply I think im gonna go for the XFX 7870 because as you said its better and I also fuigred out here are ways to enable Physx on AMD cards!
