Pretty close to buying this build. Only thing I need to know is if I should upgrade and get the 770 or 780 the overkill PSU is because I plan to go SLI early 2014 like Feb March. This build is mainly for video editing with some med to heavy gaming. I play PS3 and soon PS4 but I plan to play all multi plats on PC and just play exclusives on PS4. The only part Im not willing to change is the MB because it has thunderbolt which I need for my blackmagic cinema camera. Thanks in advance for any suggesting or tweaks.

You should go with the R9 280x, same price but is on par with a 770

I personally use both the HyperX 3k 240gb and the Kraken X60. LOVE the SSD, and the Kraken performs well, just don't expect too much from it. I found the NZXT fans a little loud for me and replaced them with Noctua NF-A14 PWM's (4 of them!).

Have you considered custom water cooling. If you needed to cut costs to make it happen, could you run with 16 GB ram or maybe 24 GB ram and increase the costs a bit.

Just an idea, I'm not familiar with the costs or requirements for custom water cooling. But the possibilities such as GPU blocks seem mazing.

I'm not familiar with custom water cooling at all lol. I'm pretty hands on and tech savvy so with a some research I'm sure I could figure it out, with the R9 280x how will that fair with adobe products? I know some of the newer CC apps are leaning towards open CL but its still heavily CUDA driven. If its a matter of say a 5 min render compared to a 8 min render then I have no problem making that switch.

Yea there will be some special effects and green screen keying. Maybe a little 3D work not much though. Question though as far as running dual R9 280s, I heard crossfire has performance issues is this trolling or actually factual?

I dont personally have a CF setup but i have heard it used to be a issue and that most of the issues have been ironed out in the last few driver releases

Ok thanks for the advice I'll do a little more research on crossfire and see what I find. So the build is solid its just a matter of which GPU to go with and maybe add some aftermarket fans to the Kraken would the H100 be a better buy?.
