Ethernet Internet Sharing [Solved]

I am trying to share an internet connection from my desktop to a server. I have one NIC on my desktop plugged into the router a few rooms away, and a PCIe network card connected to the server. I tried turning on sharing in the network adapter settings, but then my desktop just lost connection to the router. Anyone know how to get it to work? Currently, the two can send files back and forth though.

configure both network cards together in a bridge, don't use internet sharing.

Both on the desktop, or the two that are connected together?

Both on the desktop. Although is there some reason why you can't plug the other machine in to the router aswell?

I just don't have a switch or a long enough cable at the moment. Though I plan on making a cable when I go back to school after spring break. And I'll give that a try.

Well that worked. Thanks for the help.
