Epyc P series CPUS

Can you run a single 7702P/7742P in a dual socket motherboard and not populate the second socket?

I dont know this from personal experience, so cant 100% verify this but its supposed to work…

I agree, the P series limits the cpu’s to just one, not a single slot mobo.
You can run a non-P Epyc in a dual slot mobo and add the 2nd Epyc at a later date.
This should work.

I understand that. I just have a dual motherboard but the second socket has damaged pins. The p is slightly cheaper is the reason I ask.

And were both telling you yes you can run a P in there. Thats how its supposed to work.
If it makes you feel better, contact the mobo maker to get a qualified answer.

Much appreciated.
