Hello, this is my first forum post and I know this has probably been discussed before, but what's up with the shipping pricing on Epic Pants? I was going to purchase a Burning Earth Mug ($7 USD) and and Burning Earth Esc. key cap ($5 USD) and when I went to check out the shipping was $16.50 USD. That's roughly 137% of the price for the merchandise. That's not something I can justify being a college student. $28.50 for a mug and a key cap, maybe $8 shipping totaling $20 is more along the lines of what would be reasonable.
I'm pretty sure that the shipping is pretty much out of the control of the tek crew although I could be wrong on this.

I believe @thecaveman is right. If I remember correctly all the Tek Syndicate merchandise is actually shipped out of Vermont?
@EpicJohn would be able to give you a more definitive answer since he actually runs the merchandising stuff.
It would cost about $15 for me to ship a 0.5 kg package from me to them. I don't think can do much about it. Shipping is expensive. Maybe if they were selling much more stuff they could get better rates. Something akin to ebay sellers.

Just buy more, then proportionally it will cost less
Sadly, I can't afford to buy more. They have a lot of good stuff like the Zweihander shirt, the Black Metal logo, and this months shirt of the month but I don't have that kind of money to spend on t-shirts. I was planning on getting some of the coasters but they're sold out.
I've shipped a lot of stuff and it gets pricey when you add insurance, tracking, and use nicer packaging but I've shipped proportionately similar sized items for half the cost asked. I'd be willing to wait weeks if it meant cheaper shipping.
I wanted to ask the same question about shipping prices. Though it is next day or second day via the usps. I would prefer ground through the USPS, not sure on the options in the N.E. You get some extras when you order. I think T.S. isn't Amazon, though they could offer a second option besides Priority USPS shipping. The extras are cool that @EpicJohn includes so it offsets the shipping cost. Bundle more together if you want a break on the shipping. I did, and I got the next to last Burning Earth ( old style ) mouse pad. Amazon does the same thing with non Amazon fulfilled orders. Personally I would have preordered two of their mouses if I could have. Just my two bits.
Thanks for the reply John. I should've made my order a couple weeks ago before the price jump. No doubt you guys price your merchandise very reasonably. I understand that your shipping prices are what USPS asks for Priority Mail, however I don't need my purchase to arrive ASAP and would be fine with the shipping times via USPS Ground. For now I'll just have to find a way to cover the shipping cost or find people who are willing to go in on a larger order.
I don't expect Amazon style pricing or shipping, Epic Pants isn't a mega store run by a corporation with more money than the US government. I'd just like to see some options considering Priority Mail just went up in price.

Thank you for clearing that up. I didn't know that about USPS shipping. Not to be a fan-person, you offer great goods at a reasonable price. Thank you for the explanation on the shipping. I should have expected archaic practices from the USPS. They need to modernize like right now. Thank you for the quality merchandise, and message me when the mice come in. I will buy two.

Maybe I'll place an order when the mice come in/go up for presale.
Hopefully you'll in the future add more stuff to the Amazon UK store.
For me, living in Finland it does not come heck of a lot cheaper (well ordering a mousepad is 1€ cheaper) but should come cheaper when you pile on more stuff.
Shipping from UK is at least as far as I know cheaper than from the US.
Also, that comment "buy more, shipping comes cheaper".
Errr no. As you slap on more and more stuff the shipping costs just increase and increase.
Yey, 50 bucks of shipping costs for 40 bucks worth of merchandise.
I'll probably buy the mug at somepoint from the epicpants store and if more stuff comes to Amazon, I'll consider it.
Otherwise I'll probably end up just supporting through the tek support or patreon when I have the extra money.

If you are counting VAT's, which are a horrible concept, don't blame the seller. Blame the EU.
Of course I forgot the VAT, well in that case the mousepad from Amazon would be something like 6€ less.
But shipments don't always get catched by customs.
Of course a good and proper citizen notifies the customs if he receives a shipment from outside of European Economic Area to do his duty and pay taxes. (my packages have never been caught by customs and guess whether I have paid the taxes?)

It's a simple issue then. Vote to repeal the VAT. What I recieved from Epic Pants rocks, this is domestic U.S. Shipping. Quality is Excellent, Shipping is good. And you get some extras. And for the VAT, I would love to come live in Europe, better food, better culture, and a better place to live overall. Yes you do have probelms, though not what the U.S. does.
