Epic Game's Fortnite

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone on here has heard about Fortnite that has been in development for a number of years now by Epic games. The game has been in alpha for years but is always being updated. They dropped an update recently and I was given some invites so if anyone is interested and wants to try it out I have 2 invites left to give out.

Have alpha access, but since switching to Linux I can't be bothered to boot into windoze.

Is it any good? Maybe one day I'll try it.

That looks pretty cool, I'll have to keep an eye on it.

Though I am pretty meh on online games... wish more games like this with a sp option were being made.

It's kinda neat, It's very focused on co-op play to get most out of it. though you can solo the first zone without issues the harder zones you'll need a full squad of people.

Plus the developers are always taking feedback. Some of the stuff I requested about 5 months ago is now currently being tested. So it's always changing but the core game is going to stay the same when it comes to combat and building forts.

I remember hearing about this game, and at the time I'm sure I hadn't even left for university yet. How is it taking so long? It sounded like such a fun game but it's been what, maybe 6 years since I first heard about it?

It's a small team that is building it. They are getting all their funding from the Unreal engine money I guess.

Is it? I had no idea, I'm sure when I first heard about it, it was being developed in-house just before free-to-play started to kick off, as I remember them discussing turning it into a free-to-play model.
