Entry Water Cooling Advice

Hey guys, I've been looking into the EK-Kit L240 for the last few days and thought I should xheck with the experienced before diving right in.

I currently have an 8350 oc'd to 4.6 GHz and a r9 280x. I dont plan putting a block on the 280x since im eyeing up the upcoming 490(x?) as an upgrade. Ultimately id like to follow what 4ryan6 did on TomsHardware and use two peltiers to chill my cpu, mostly for the fun of it but thats a year out at least. So this kinda rules out AIOs as an option.

So, back to the reason for posting, i was wondering if anyone here has used this or comparable (L120/360, P240, etc) kits since i cant find many review for the current 2nd revision of the kit. As far as i can tell for the $225 the kit costs its ~$400 worth of gear bought seperately through EK.

Thanks in advance guys!

AIOs are never really an option in my book... (unless you're in a situation where you can't use a high end air cooler). Glad to see you're going custom loop.

That being said... I don't have experience with custom loops so someone more knowledgeable than myself on the subject (plenty of them here) should come by and assist with the problem at hand.

@ThatBootsGuy Cool, seems like we are on the same page then :D

And i forgot to mention i do already have a NH-D14 attempting to cool my 8350 but the urge to keep pushing my OC is too strong for high end air it seems.

yup 8350s tend to run really hot... but if you can keep them cool they're great overclockers.

Just received the EK L240 kit and will report back in a few days with impressions and comparison to the d14
