I’m looking for advice on a (preferably compact) switch to encrypt a trunk with VLANs between two nearby offices over a single-mode fiber. I was thinking of something like the Cisco 3560CX but I’m unable to determine performance impact (maybe I’m missing it in the docs).
Also I’m curious about alternatives if you have any suggestions. I took a look at Juniper switches but the compact models didn’t seem to offer MACsec which I suppose it doesn’t strictly have to be but the models that support didn’t exactly cost less than the compact Cisco switch.
So if you’ve done these setups please share experience and hw suggestions
The link will be 1 Gbps and the encryption speed should at least be 100 Mbps but higher is better of course.
