Emergency Millionaire Backup Plan - thoughts

Hello! Every week, I purchase 2 Kentucky Powerball tickets in hopes of, obviosuly, winning millions of dollars. If I ever did win, after my 3 month vacation and first round of investing, I would begin work on the ultimate computer system. Not just a high-end rig; 3 END-ALL-LIFE builds, including a gaming build, a workstation build, and a server build. Overall, I think I have prepared well, but if not, please advise what I should change to make these all the most overkill, overpowered computers I could possibly conjure with any amount of money.

For the gaming build, I went with the Intel i7-3970x Sandy Bridge-E. Since by the time I win (if I ever do, which obviously I won't), Ivy Bridge-E will be out, I will simpy switch out the 3970x for the Ivy Bridge-e equivalent. Here is the configuration for millionaire me gaming: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/xo23

It would be water cooled, obviously, and have 3x or 4x SLI EVGA gtx 680 4GB. I know, SLI has many issues, but seriously - 3 gtx 680s will murder everything for a long time. Also, 90" of monitor is maybe a bit extreme, but I am also a millionaire when I build this, so...

Here is my theoretical editing workstation: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/xoiy

I used most of the same parts for the editing rig. I would use the same processor because of the 6 cores. I would also water cool this one, so most of the cooling components were carried over. I opted for lower latency rather than higher frequency for the aid in rendering. I increased the storage from 2TB to 3.5TB of SSD to accomodate for the size of the footage/photos I woul be dealing with (I would have added more, but the motherboard does not have any more SATA 6gb/s ports). I also added 3 more 30" monitors for a 6 monitor setup (3 across, 2 tall). I could have used 2-way SLI gtx 690s, but the VRAM limits the monitors' ability. Sadly, Quadro SLI does not work on consumer motherboards, so instead of using Tesla or Quadro, I added 4-way SLI gtx 680 4GB for CUDA cores. Yumm... CUDA... I probably could use the gaming build for editing without much difference in performance.

Finally, my theoretical server build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/xoSG

This would host so many things... Game servers, all of my websites - and it would still have a lot of power to spare. My god, what have I done...

Do you think I have a good plan if I ever become a millionaire? I just want to be ready for the near-impossible future that I expect to encounter. Thanks for the input!

Cheers,

Mushkin Just announced a 960Gb SSD, might wanna use those insteal of the 512Gb samsungs for MOAR STORAGEEE!!!!

I was considering those, but the Samsung 840 Pro are some of the fastest ones out there. The 960GBB SSDs offer more storage, but lower speeds.

Holy shit over $50k worth of computer, maybe you should hire someone to fix them whenever you have problems. That's why I'm scared of SLI/Crossfire.

only the most awesome Case mod EVER!

rather have that than the most powerful PC you can buy
