Electrical noise problem advice

that’s right you mentioned that earlier and I glossed over it thinking the capacitance was stretching out the signal. I suppose that’s not a very good test because we don’t know if the speeduino rejects erratic inputs

Wait a second, I just looked at the speeduino site and it says you need to run the crank sensor on an encoder wheel rather than a single tooth wheel. That has to be the problem, even if the software let’s you go down to 1 tooth I don’t think its valid based off what I’m reading.

“Need to” All it helps is to get more granular control of spark timing/advance. If somebody wanted to do a basic fuel-only Speeduino setup, a typical CAM sensor and MAP sensor would be plenty info to calculate fuel. “Speed density” Something for RPM, and MAP sensor for density. The problem I’m seeing would prevent decent running even if the Speeduino only controlled fueling.

If you look into different options for calculations, it can be done based on the previous cycle and counting clock cycles, or the newer option which makes more use of the extra teeth.
