Eizo Foris FS2434

A new screen is on my priority list and the Eizo Foris FS2434 got my attention. Eizo says that this is a great IPS-gaming monitor. Now IPS-panels tend to be slower than TN-panels (which are indeed strictly gaming when it comes to reaction times from 1 or less than 1ms). Colourwise, IPS-panels tend to have the edge here - the Foris seems to combine both worlds.

Gaming genre: ego-/ first person shooter. Does somebody own the Eizo Foris FS 2434 and can tell me about the gaming performance?

TN panels indeed have faster respons time, the only downside of TN is that the viewing angles, and colors are terrible imo.

IPS panels have much better color accurancy and much better viewing angles, the only con is, that ips monitors have slower response time. i use a 75Hz AH-ips panel my self and it has 5ms response time, i play allot of racing games, and such. i never noticed any ghosting or what not. so in my opinnion ips panels are just great.

If you are looking for a decent ips monitor, i would recommend to look at something like an LG. LG makes the best ips panels out there. Basicly allmost other big monitor brands use LG ips panels inside, they only use there own calibrations, which makes them diffrent from eachother.

I dont know where you life? But you could also look at some of the korean monitors that Logan reviewed a while ago. Achieva Shimian 1440p ips monitor.

If you want a monitor that has image quality very close to ips, but is overclockable, then you could look for an PLS panel. Logan reviewed the Xstar which is a samsung pls monitor and this monitor is overclockable.

So yeah there are basicly several options.

I'll have to do some research where I can buy Korean screens here in Austria. Talking about TN-panels: LG has released a new gaming monitor - LG24GM-77B

Seems to be great.

You have to be very careful about the warranty on the so-called Korean monitors. One way purchase; once it blows, trying to get a replacement can be a pain, unless the reseller will volunteer. And If connectivity is the thing, I would look into something else. Other than that, they are cheap and the panels are based off more expensive monitors.
