Editing and semi-gaming rig for a friend?

$900-1000 budget. I know it can be improved, but its late and I'm tired so I'm asking for suggestions here. No optical drive is needed.

i would personaly trow a FX8320 with Asus M5A99X evo R2.0 in there, the 8 core realy can come handy in editing and productivity.

+1

Also 5400rpm may be a bit slow.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2zTmO BAM there ya go!

something with you and $100 over everything else's build?

He said his budget it 900-1000$... 978$, correct me if I'm wrong, but the last time I checked is between those 2 #s.

mister, your build has less gaming performance than the original one, and he said it's an editing rig, so the 8 gb isn't enough :)

if you want to go intel, here would be a good suggestion for 1000$

otherwise, all the amd fx 8320 optios look good :)

True.

I'd go this direction for a sub $1000 editing rig: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2A9rt The 8 core cpu paired with the powerful gtx 770 and 16gb's of 2133mhz ram will be a monster editing rig for less than $1000.

I'm liking this rig.

The higher clocked RAM will aid in editing/rendering.  It'll also be a beast at gaming.
