ECC Support on 970A-D3?

I just bought a Gigabyte 970A-D3 rev 1.4 off a friend. Does this motherboard support ECC RAM? I know officially it does not when I look on their website. Almost all of AMD's CPUs support ECC so it was up to the Gigabyte if they added support for it or not. I am looking for somebody who has this motherboard and can assure me it works. I don't want to waste money and buy some ECC ram to find out that it won't work. I'm going to be using it for a FreeNAS media server with an 8350 in it.
