Easy Question; PSU Mounting

Hi guys,

I've got  a nice easy question for you.

- Should I mount my PSU up so the fan is facing towards the Mobo, or down towards the dust filter?

I'm not sure if it makes a difference, thanks for your help in advance.

I have a Corsair HX850 and Fractal Design Define R4.

Cheers!

Down so the PSU has it's own cool airflow. Just make sure to clean the dust filter every month and it'll be fine.

Down, or else why would the dust filter even be there?  Even better because the R4's dust filter is so easy to just pop out and clean.

It can be mounted whichever way you like.

If you are having the case directly on top of a surface like carpet, then its best to have the unit mounted with fan facing up. Will save cleaning the dust all the time. Otherwise facing it down is the way to go (personal opinion). Also stops shit from falling in there when swapping out parts.

Down. Draws in cool air from outside of the case, instead of the warmer air from inside. Will prolong the life of your PSU. As long as it isnt on carpet.
