I have a pair of apple ear buds and they don't seem to work with my moto x. They work with my iPad and they worked with my old phone. Any idea why they aren't working?
Is sound coming out or is just the remote not working. The remote on Apple earbuds won't work on an android phone. If no sound is coming out then you may have a defective headphone jack. Or you could have the media volume turned all the way down, if you're coming from an iPhone there's four different volume controls on android so you could just be turning up the wrong one.
no I only get a popping sound when using the earbuds. I know that the jack isn't deffective because I have used headphones with it and they worked just fine. And these don't have a remote they came with my dads iPod.
Do the earbuds have a headset connector (3 rings instead of 2; has a mic)?
I'm pretty sure that the Moto X can't actually accept headsets, which is peculiar for a flagship. It only works with two-ring 3.5mm plugs.
Yes it does and I saw something about that, but my headphones have 3 rings and it works fine
It's probably about the standards used then, as one google'd reply says:
Apple's non-standard signalling and control method means many designed for iPhone headsets are incompatible with other devices.
interesting...it's just weird that they worked with my old htc 8x and not this, but that could be why.
