Dxtory / Avidemux Issue

I didn't really know where to put this so just thought I'd put it here. But basically, I tried recording with Dxtory (in AVI) and it puts the video file and the audio from the VACs all into one file. I was told to use Avidemux to extract all the audio files and separate them in order to edit - however the programme just green screens when I open up my AVI file.

Any ways to resolve this / any alternatives would be great thanks.

I hope to use Dxtory though as I have used some other recording software and I receive the smallest hit to my frame rate from Dxtory (both in-game and in the recorded video).

I ran into this problem a while back as well. In my case the problem was with vegas pro. You just need to get a different codec so that it'll read it correctly, or just save in a different format.

Also, dxtory is old, there are better things out there now, like OBS, I recommend it over anything.

The fix for vegas, if that happens to be what you're using. http://reviewsnet7.weebly.com/aviplugdll.html

Thanks for the reply. I was using Adobe Premiere actually, not vegas. But I'll see if the problem is similar.

Thanks for the recommendation of OBS, I'll give that a look too :)

Keep in mind that OBS is not capable of the same quality of a proper Dxtory setup nor can it record audio in separate tracks (quite important for editing imo). OBS was made with streaming in mind.
